Those in the know say that if
you haven’t been to Vegas for
five years, you haven’t been to
Vegas. There’s no other destination
in the world which reinvents
itself, so spectacularly, on
an ongoing basis.
These days there’s $40 billion
in new development planned
or underway, including 40,000
new hotel rooms (to put that
in perspective, Toronto has
just over 20,000 rooms in total).
Recent developments include
the glittering new Trump
International Hotel and Tower
(which has not one but 50
penthouse suites) and a new
tower at the MGM Grand which
is non-gaming, non-smoking.
Don’t gamble? Don’t worry.
There’s lots to do in Vegas including shopping (the number one activitiy of leisure visitors) and the awesome shows, including several by Canada’s own Cirque du
Soleil. A must-see is their show
“O” which incorporates a water
theme with spectacular acrobatics above and below the surface. Reservations are a must, as much as three months ahead.
At last count, there are over 45
spas here, many with specialities
and themes. What a great way to relax after a few hours of “retail therapy”?
You can even get in touch with the great outdoors by taking a day trip to impressive Hoover Dam or the stunning Red Rock Canyon. Or if you prefer your outdoors a little more manicured, there are over 60 golf
courses in the Vegas area.
This year, Las Vegas will be welcoming almost 40 million visitors
– over a million from Canada. And guess what? For the first time, some will be arriving on Sunwing Airlines.
We’re very proud of this new
route, which will be offered
every Thursday and Sunday as
of September from Vancouver,
Calgary and Toronto, Monday
and Friday from Montreal. Why
not arrive in Vegas in style…on
board Sunwing? |
