Destination: Riviera Maya
You will always remember…
Come and enjoy an unforgettable day of snorkel where we’ll take you to travel across the Yalku Lagoon, and visit two beautiful “cenotes” in the Riviera Maya. Cenotes are natural sinkholes formed by dissolution of rock, which may or may not be linked to an active cave system, and the subsequent collapse of the rock ceiling of the void. The Mayan considered these systems as sacred, existing open waters ones or sheltered sites. This amazing expedition will take you to explore the sacred Mayan places where you’ll be in touch with the rich local flora and fauna. Our first stop in this trip is a small lovely cenote called El Sueño, similar to a lake, its waters are extraordinary crystalline and you’ll observe there beautiful and colorful fish. From there we’ll go to a cenote of singular beauty and the most visited: the Mayan Blue, This system is composed by two incredible caves with stalactites and stalagmites in natural environs that will fascinate you where the water is agreeably fresh and transparent. Once we arrived to Akumal we’ll go to the Yalku lagoon where you’ll snorkel and swim with colorful tropical fish, rays and sea turtles. At this lagoon fresh and cold waters, from the underground rivers, meet with the Caribbean Sea creating an ideal spot for enjoying to the utmost your experience. At the end of so much activity nothing likes a succulent lunch for getting the strength back.
